I'm walking down a lonely road,
And here I stand, my life alone.
The leaves fall in the autume breeze.

He is standing behind me,
I know this for my heart tells me.
He is waiting for my answer.

I will not answer his question,
It is not that it is difficult.
He asks me for what no mortal can answer.

I look into his loving eyes,
But I find not the answer I seek.
What is it you want from me?

My lips finally speak.
'You neednt not an answer, but just to love me.'

I look into his eyes again,
My answer is clear to me.
I fear Death no more.

His loving arms embrace me,
And our lips touch,
My eyes overflow with joy.

I laugh my last upon this earth,
Everything darkens I fear this is my last.
I hear the angels shriek above.

Fearing of what I have done,
I close my eyes at last, I had loved.
But warmth slowly returns, I am not done.

In his arms I lay,
A smile on his face,
And a kiss on my lips.

I was and are still alive,
For he granted me time.
I fell in love with Death, and our love shall never die.
